An Overwhelmed Rant

Today, like most other days, I’m busy taking care of everything for everyone. At least the people in my house. I’m not feeling well today and I don’t know if it’s a cold or allergies. This is a bad time of the year for Spank, the kids, and me. I have a headache and am now getting irritable. In addition to taking care of my personal stuff (renewing my driver’s license and applying for a passport), Muk’s practice football uniform needs to be washed, Day has homework to do, Tootie is having a rough time balancing high school stuff and is struggling with math, dinner needs to be cooked, we need groceries, and Spank needs me to call about an IPass violation. I still try to find time to write so I can achieve my own personal goals.

And on top of all this, I am the handyman. Yesterday, I hung up the wall bracket for the TV while Spank lied in the bed spectating. Who does that?!

But with a smile on my face, I get up, wash the clothes, help the kids with their homework while cooking dinner, cart one or all the kids around to their respective activities, clean up, and help them prepare for the next day. Once the house is quiet, I still have to spend time with Spank. Heaven forbid I fall asleep while watching a movie. So I pop an Ibuprofen and keep going. 4 hour energy drink here I come!

WooooooooooooSaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Married to Him – Moving Along

The wedding was a success and the headache was over. When we left the reception people were still partying. We jumped in the Excursion and left as Mr. And Mrs. Spank. We were off to start our life as a married couple. We didn’t take an actual honeymoon but instead we spent the night at Essence Suites. We were so tired from the festivities we both hit the bed and crashed.

The next day was Father’s Day. We were back to reality for quick. We had a busy day ahead of us. We had to stop by my parents house to see my dad and help take down the equipment from the wedding. We went back home, rested, and went to dinner since he w a father too.

The next few weeks were quite hectic for us. We finally closed on OUR house. It was a beautiful two story home sitting on an acre of land. The backyard backed up to a farm so there was plenty of space. I enjoyed the peace and tranquility. We longer heard the roars of sirens at night or people fussing as they went the down the street. The house had 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, living room, family room, office, eat-in kitchen, laundry room, and a basement. I fell in love with the house instantly.

In one week, we closed, moved into the house, celebrated both our birthdays, and found out we were expecting our first child. Things were moving at the speed of lightening, but that was so indicative of our entire relationship. Fast, fast, and even faster!

I was back on cloud nine again. We had so many things to look forward to. The house was huge for just the two of us but we planned to have it filled with laughs and the pitter patter of little feet. Our plan was already in motion. We daydreamed together about the baby’s arrival. We both wanted a boy! As the days progressed and the baby grew, I got sicker and sicker. The morning sickness was kicking my butt. He was a trooper the entire time. He didn’t complain as much and was tending to all my needs. We were a family and things were feeling good. I was happy! There was hope for us after all.

Stay tuned tomorrow to find out if things continued along this good path.
